Diversi-Tech downdraft tables application case study
(October 2003)
Problem
Mueller is a company based in Milton, Ontario and is a leader in the
fabrication of fire hydrants. Mueller called Diversi-Tech to help solve an
air quality problem in the paint spraying area. Due to the weight of the
product, the client wanted to paint the hydrant without removing it from
the production line and wanted to ensure that there was no paint being
over sprayed on the assembly line.
The Solution
Diversi-Tech installed a 3'x4' "Empty" Downdraft table connected to a
remote fan. Paint arrestor filters were installed below the grating to
capture overspray while fumes were exhausted outside the building (please
consult your local legislation). The Downdraft table was also equipped
with castors and a flexible connection to the fan so that the table could
be moved closer or further from the assembly line.
At Diversi-Tech, we are equipped to design and fabricate Downdraft tables
to meet your specific needs. For more information on customized solutions,
