Diversi-Tech downdraft tables application case study

Problem

Performance LT, an aerospace manufacturer based in Laval, Quebec, called on Diversi-Tech to help plan and implement a new deburring area for their facility. Up to now, any aluminum dust particles created from their process were becoming airborne, creating a hazardous environment for employees..

The Solution

Diversi-Tech fabricated four special Downdraft tables, using our “DD-2x4” platform. Diversi-Tech engineered a special top section that allowed for a larger work surface, and an extended overhang which allowed PLT employees to sit comfortably at the table. Special plexiglass side and back walls were also added, with hinges, to allow for better light distribution over the surface of the table. With a face velocity of over 325 feet per minute of air movement on the surface of the table, Diversi-Tech surpassed the customer’s expectations and met all clean air quality regulations.
